The annual event organized by WomenInTech Africa (WITA) was very engaging online and offline. The event ran from 18th to 22nd September 2018 and was live across the world, in Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Mauritius, Somaliland, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Ireland, Germany, Trinidad and Tobago.
IE University was a partner for the event. IE professors and alumni engaged participants in key topics of discussion like current trends and models in technology skills training; the role of technology in industries like healthcare and entrepreneurship and lessons learnt by women working in tech on the African continent and in diaspora.
I was honored to share my experience in technology and healthcare; my take away message being that e-Health / m-Health solutions are critical tools of promoting access to quality healthcare and of supporting attainment of universal health coverage in Africa and beyond.
