In September 2018, I was a media manager and a social entrepreneur leading a team of 50 people in Kyiv, Ukraine.
In September 2019, I am a startupper and a human rights activist. My current team consists of two people (me included), and we are working on the project that aims to fight discrimination worldwide.
One may think of downshifting — but not me. The change came natural as my way to deliver an impactful social change.
Here I must admit that IE played an important role in this turnaround. Although my education portfolio consists of three masters (including an EMBA), three short-term business courses taken in the USA and Sweden, IE Executive Summer School experience was a tipping point in my new venture’s story.
Sitting on IE’s campus in downtown Madrid back in July 2016, in a classroom together with 20 C-Suits from 13 countries, I clearly saw how competitive my ideas, creativity, boldness and speed were. That was an unforgettable moment of understanding that time had come to move higher and grow outside my country, the region even.
After the executive school, I tried to follow the new path within my previous media business Ekonomika+ that includes delo.ua, mmr.ua, womo.ua and other digital channels. But I failed. Wasting no time for depression, I made up my mind to sell the business and devote myself to a project that can cover at least three billion people (the Earth population is 7 billion, to compare).
Believe it or not, one month before my exit from Ekonomika+, the idea I was looking for suddenly emerged – in my eldest daughter’s essay. “I want to use the universal language of music to make intolerance irrelevant” – wrote the teenager in her composition.
That made me think of the different ways that I can help her with such a challenging yet beautiful task. That was the moment that Biasless was born, back in December 2018. Here’s a video pitch, explaining what changes the project aims to embrace –
Bialess is a writing assistant for bias eradication. It’s an advisor, able to reduce reputational and economic risks for corporations and citizens.
Every time someone decides to write that he was late for a meeting because of a stupid blondie who drove like nuts, Biasless will underline the passage and explain that there is no correlation between the color of hair or gender and driving skills. It will provide relevant statistics as evidence.
Biasless aims to eliminate the spread of hate speech on social media, in traditional media and business communication. The scope of the project is enormous as it covers gender equality, LGBTQ rights, race, nationality and age prejudices.
And we plan to use not only the power of AI but the peer-to-peer approach to decrease the level of biases in the world.

It was not an easy switch from a comfortable corporate life to a venture world. So much had to be started from scratch. But the new start, its magnitude and the anticipation of something immense to happen, drives and energizes me more than my fears.
