Krakow welcomed us on Friday, October 27th at its Entrepreneurship hub, Hub:raum, where 36 women joined our event on how to mentor promising upcoming women Entrepreneurs. IE Professor Paz Ambrosy shared her inspiring success story as founder of an investment fund, together with some tips on how to become an Entrepreneur. According to her, the steps she follows every time she and her team consider an investment are:
1. Analysis of the industry and the team
2. Co-develop the business plan
3. Reinforce motivation to the team (if needed, especially in growth)
4. International connections
5. Reporting & budgeting
She also said that along the way, you would always have to deal with ego, experience and ambition – so at the end of the day, one must also need to have a lot of patience: things are difficult before they become easy. There was a lesson on humbleness and normality in a highly-demanding environment, topped by Iwona Gruszka’s – a speaker from Women in Technology – contribution regarding the challenges women are facing and how to work around them.
Many of the women who joined us ranging from young professionals to executives, corporate players and free-lancers, career shifters and established entrepreneurs, shared a profoundly positive feedback on the session. Inspirational, practical, excellent were only few of the attributes they used. One of them had taken a 2 and a half hours bus ride just to attend the event and she was extremely happy with her choice.
The evening ended elegantly at the Krakow Start Up Week Gala, which we were mentor sponsors of.
So again, IE & Entrepreneurship interwined in Krakow, a promising city for successful startups.
