IE Business School and University is proud to announce the official launch of a partnership with the American Association of University Women to promote the role of women in education and increase knowledge sharing practices regarding salary negotiation for women in the workplace.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) was founded in 1881 and is a non-profit organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. The organization has a nationwide network of 170,000 members and supporters, 1,000 local branches and 800 college and university chapters.
Through this partnership, IE will have the opportunity to provide a wide variety of scholarships to women looking to pursue educational opportunities at IE. Many of these scholarship opportunities will be targeted towards the IE School of Human Science and Technology specifically to encourage women to pursue professional trajectories within STEM.
In addition, the broader IE community will be giving free access to the AAUW Work Smart Salary Negotiation Tool. Work Smart is offered both as in-person workshops and as a free online course. The program is designed to empower women by teaching them to assess their market value, research competitive salaries in their fields, and articulate their worth in a way that ensures success. It is our hope that with this partnership we will be able to further the mission of the IE Women initiative by empowering more women to access higher education opportunities and strengthen our professional network.
