he executives shared their experiences on how to manage complexity across different professional areas. Itziar Galindo, partner at KPMG, shared her experience about juggling parenthood while pursuing a Partner position at the leading firm. For her, it is essential to keep an honest and upfront conversation about your personal and professional roles with your managers, as well as seeking support from your partner at home.
Katherine Tweedie, from Investec Asset Management, shared her diverse experience and insights from pivoting her career from working at the World Economic Forum to Investec Asset Management, motivating the crowd to challenge themselves and pursue new opportunities. Finally, Maria Vila, gave her perspective on the importance of being a proactive leader as an executive leadership coach. All the panellists agreed that a key aspect of developing a leading career was having a vision, knowing yourself and identifying personal drivers which to follow throughout your career.
Prior to the panel, Itziar Vizcano and Rocio Suanzes lead students in a workshop about effective decision making and the importance of diversity in leadership as well as unconscious bias.
The executive´s management experience in different fields was varied and interesting. They shared their management best practices as tips for the future leaders in the room. Everyone agreed they would look to hire the best and most active candidates who could bring diverse ideas when adding people to their teams. These four panellists were an inspiration for everyone in the room; they encouraged students to create value in disruptive environments, to be adaptable and to push for new positions and promotions throughout their careers.
